Ashtanga yoga is a powerful, deep practice, best known for its linear approach and challenging nature.
The practice offers a framework to refine our awareness and expand our understanding from the firm foundation that working with the body provides.
The intensity and complexity of the sequence of postures that we typically practice require to step back now and then, and bring some perspective into the work that we do. Only then, may we establish an honest, life long relationship with the practice. Only then, it will become a tool for awakening.
And so, we will address some of the most elusive movements of the practice on a series of Saturday workshops scheduled regularly.
This work will refresh your approach, refine your understanding, renew your commitment, and make you fall in love with the practice -being for the first time or once again.
Next one coming up is on Saturday 30th of November from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Awakenings. Legs - Pelvis: Connection, Lightness & Control
Legs are so important FOR EVERYTHING in practice!
They keep us Grounded, aware of What Is, Connected to LIFE. With this quality of Steadiness, an understanding of the leg moving offers an increase in Lightness, Freedom and Ease, for example in some of the more elusive movements, like lifting up from the floor or supporting healthy pelvis and spine alignment.
With this said, it is surprising our level of disconnect and disregard, the little attention and lack of skill.
In this session, we will explore applied leg/pelvis mechanics, within the framework of the practice of Ashtanga yoga. Learn by doing, not just thinking :)
